Autoimmune pain as a window into chronic pain

Our Lab studies human disease mechanisms that drive sensory neuron dysfunction and chronic pain.

Our research.

At Saint Louis University, our research is grounded in translational science. We use human tissues and clinically informed questions to uncover the mechanisms that drive chronic pain. By studying rare autoantibodies associated with pain, we aim to reveal the protein interactions and signaling pathways that regulate sensory neuron function and become disrupted in disease. This work helps identify new biological mechanisms of pain and lays the foundation for future therapeutic discovery.
